Communication
is the most important key in a virtual team. Today many business,
contracts, negotiations are done through remote face to face technology
like Skype video calls, conferences for instance, employees are hired
through exchanging of emails, telephone, all in a virtual environment.
In
an organization it is important for the employers to hire people who
are well acquainted with technology and can be a great virtual team
member and it is important for the employees to use their technology
skills for the best quality, improvement and success of work within
related department.
Frequent communication is very critical for the success, managing and negotiating business globally with a global team.
If
there is frequency communication, it helps and creates a sense of
supportiveness, participation, openness, trust and assistance among
group or virtual team.
Leaders
need to be considerate with time and as well as cultural and religious
differences. For example if one of the teams is working in Afghanistan
or Saudia Arabia, we need to make sure to set our video conferences in a
specific time and also respect their praying time.
A successful leader is the one who will be cautious and mindful of all those mentioned differences.
